After the reoccurring monthly costs of payroll, equipment leases, etc., have been deducted, the maintenance and operating funds for District 2 is $19,438.34. To illustrate how far this type of income will go, it is about equal to eight weeks of fuel, or 2,000 tons of rock which sometimes lasts only two weeks.
Commissioner Pearson is prepared to deal with these financially difficult times. He has decreased the payroll and is operating efficiently with fewer workers. Since he has taken office he has been evaluating inoperable equipment to determine whether money should be spent in rejuvenating it or whether it should be disposed of. This has brought in money from some equipment being auctioned off, and put other equipment back into the work fleet.
All of the calls and visits from the constituents reporting the conditions of roads is appreciated. It is helpful in prioritizing where the main focus needs to be and where the limited finances should be spent.
Commissioner Pearson wants to utilize every means of communication with you that is possible. As major road projects come up they will be posted on this site, so check back often.
