- Projects' Status
Wed, 18 Jan 2012
We often receive inquiries about the status of particular road and bridge projects in District 2. To make it more convenient for citizens to keep updated, we are posting this link which provides information about major projects for which we are seeking state or federal funds. This is the same file we use in our office to track projects, so there are some “inner-office” notes posted as well. If you know of a project we are working on which is not listed here, it is because the money to fund it has either been donated, is coming from our Maintenance and Operations Account, or is a Federal Emergency Management Agency project. There are approximately 36 steps in the process of applying for and using funds derived from federal government sources. Consequently, the procedure from start to finish can be complex. If you have questions about any of the information in this file, feel free to call, e-mail or text. The file will be updated on a regular basis. ...read Projects' Status...

- New Road District Map
Wed, 04 Jan 2012
The 2010 census indicates that Logan County’s population increased from 33,924 in the year 2000 to 41,848 in 2010. This is largely due to 49 new housing additions in the county since 2010. Every ten years, Commissioners are required to redraw county road districts based on the latest census. By law, each district should have equal population so everyone will have the same amount of representation in government. This principle is known as one-man, one-vote. Earlier this year, the Logan County Board of Commissioners met its legal obligation to redistrict, and as a result, road district boundaries have changed. By clicking on “New Road District Map” at the end of this article, you can view a map which shows the new road districts, school districts, voting precincts and State House of Representative districts. All of Logan County is now in State Senate district 20. To verify where you vote, go to: http://www.ok.gov/elections/ppl/index.php ...read New Road District Map...

- Traffic Counts
Wed, 04 Jan 2012
When Commissioner Pearson came into office he instituted an aggressive program to evaluate the condition of roads and reclassify with Oklahoma Department of Transportation the more heavily traveled ones. By reclassifying the roads it makes it possible to qualify for more grants with which to improve them. A part of the process of reclassification was to take traffic counts. The attached PDF shows some of the average daily traffic counts taken. ...read Traffic Counts...

- County Prepares for Auction
Fri, 12 Aug 2011
For some time there has been a need to clean up our shop yard and rid it of piles of scrap metal which have accumulated over the years. As we began to take inventory of our resources, we determined it would be in the district’s best interest to auction off the metal as well as some equipment. As word got out about our auction, the other two road districts, the sheriff’s office and other county departments expressed an interest in being a part of it. Consequently, quite a collection of items has been assembled, including a Bantam excavator, pneumatic roller, trucks, small buses, pickups, cars, piles of scrap metal, computers, televisions, desks, chairs, a fax machine, printers, copier, typewriter, camcorder and other miscellaneous items. The auction will be held August 20, at 10:00 a.m. at 1550 N. Midwest Blvd. Gates will open at 8:00 that morning for those who wish to inspect items before the auction. You can view a few photos of items for sale at http://bit.ly/qOEonM. Information about the event will also be published in the Guthrie News Leader on Saturday, August 13. To see the handbill for the auction click on "County Prepares for Auction" in the next sentence. ...read County Prepares for Auction...
